The Story of Anne Frank The impressive musical images created by Otto M. Schwarz tell the story of the German girl Anne Frank, who lived in hidden rooms of an Amsterdam town house until her family was betrayed and deported to Auschwitz where they all - apart from her father - went to their deaths. The composer, who himself is the father of two daughters, has illustrated various scenes from this young girl's short life in a dramatic and cinematic style.

Around the World in 80 Days The novel Around the World in Eighty Days by the French author Jules Verne, was first published in 1873. In this story, the Englishman Phileas Fogg sets off for a journey around the world as a result of a bet with his friends at the London Reform Club. He sets off that very night, together with his servant Passepartout, heading for Egypt, through France, and across Europe, then to Egypt and India, Hong Kong, China, Japan, and to New York where the bet appears to be lost. But they are lucky. On their arrival in London – as they have saved a day by crossing the date line – they succeed after all.

Festival Bells Festival Bells is a fast-paced and demanding opening work. The uplifting mood of the piece describes the anticipation of a festival in Austria. Within the middle section, the Upper Austrian anthem is incorporated into the music. This composition was commissioned by the Upper Austrian regional music directorate on the occasion of the Upper Austrian regional music festival, and was premièred at the Brucknerhaus in Linz by the Salzkammergut Bläserphilharmonia under the direction of the composer. A festive, cheerful and spectacular piece of music!

In The Stone In the Stone is an entirely appropriate title for this song from pop legends, Earth, Wind & Fire, whose funky tunes characterised the disco era like no other artist. In the Stone is a lively brass band arrangement that maintains the soulful character of the original record, which featured exciting saxophone, trumpet and trombone parts.

Alpina Saga The enticing sounds of a fanfare come drifting down the mountainside into the valley. A hiker pauses and looks upward to admire the beauty of the mountain.

However prudence is in order, for this splendour can be deceiving and many a hiker has taken this way - never to return.

The Glenmasan Manuscript The Glenmasan Manuscript is an historic Scottish manuscript from the fifteenth century that contains legendary Celtic texts from the Ulster region. In his composition, Marc Jeanbourquin has evoked the atmospheres and illustrated the landscapes, as well as legendary heroes from this country, through music. The extraordinary spectacular finale is certainly one of the reasons this piece is both suitable as a challenging contest piece as well as a concert piece.
