Lord Tullamore In Lord Tullamore, composer Carl Wittrock shows us his vision for Irish folk music. The result is a diverse three-part composition of rousing Irish folk with a continental touch. The Baron of Dedem The Baron of Dedem once ruled over a large plot of peat in the Netherlands. 1809 saw the beginning of the construction of a canal to transport this fuel, so important in those days. The canal was named after the Baron, as was the nearby village. This work describes the establishment of the canal and the village, but also life in the region nowadays, thereby setting a slice of Dutch life to music.

Trimbeka Trimbeka is a composition which owes its existence to the anniversary of music society “de Vlecke” in Gorredijk.
The name Gorredijk originates from “goor” or “gor”, which means : bog. Along the marshy peat ran a “dijk” (the Dutch word for dike), called the Gordijk. The name of the village resembles that of the home town of the composer himself, who comes from a town in Twente called Goor.
Three streams used to run through the area around Gorredijk. the historical name Trimbeets (Trimbeka), meaning three brooks, recalls this to mind.
Gorredijk was a flourishing “Vlecke”, i.e. large village, which was situated on an intersection of important connecting roads. The liveliness which this entailed is one of the distinctive elements in Trimbeka.
Furthermore, ominous sounds possibly refer to the dangers of the bog, while the resonance of the merriment during the annual fair can also be heard. The slow middle movement is an ode to the beautiful landscape surrounding the village.

Antarctica Carl Wittrock became inspired by huge icefields surrounding the South Pole. Colourfull and majestic sounds provide the composition a fascinating view of this "6th" continent.
Antarctica is a free impression of the scenery in the Antarctic.
Melodies are linked together to convey the various aspects of the landscape.
These melodies together with their simple harmonic accompaniments make this work pleasant for both the listener and the musician.

Oxygen Oxygen (2004) is a short composition for fanfare orchestra, constructed with elements from rock and popular music. The composer used funky rhythms, jazzy harmonies and pulsating rock to illuminate the fanfare band from a different angle. The music demands a groove from the percussion section, and the wind players are asked to use playing techniques from light music. And for this all, the performers and audience alike need a good supply of oxygen.

Admiral Spirit The 'Admiral Spirit' is the pride of the Navy. The ship is at sea, there is no wind, the sun is shining. The crew are busy piloting the ship into port in prime condition. The admiral himself will inspect the vessel.
The first movement (Allegro Con Spirito) gives musical expression to the majestic ship and its toiling crew.
In the second movement (Andante), the ship sails into port. It has been polished and technically everything is in order. The admiral will be proud when he inspects the ship.
Third movement (Allegro Molto): the captain and his crew are nervous (modulations) while working at the 'finishing touch'. The Navy Band is ready to receive the admiral !. He may be proud of his flagship.

A View at the Zoo Everybody is familiar with the zoo. Remember all those animals? Big ones, small ones. Water dwellers, air-bound birds, long legged hoppers, creeping bugs. All animals seem to have their own peculiarities.
Now, Carl Wittrock (who also composed the world-famous master piece 'Lord Tullamore') invites you to join him in a musical exploration of the animal kingdom.
An invitation you must not reject! In his 'A view at the Zoo', Wittrock presents ten distinctly different animals as compositions of music. You may be familiar with some of those animals, such as the white swan or the butterfly, but there are also more exotic breeds, like the lion, the monkey, or the elephant.

The composition as a whole is built around a structure of shorter fragments reminiscent of 'The Paintings Exhibition' by Moussorgsky. The parts are decorated with recognizable illustrations of the different animals. At each composition, Wittrock looks for something that can fascinate both musicians and listeners. In this he succeeded extremely well.

A Diamond for Parker Thomas Tallis wrote his second Psalm in 1567 as a part of his ‘Nine tunes for Archbishop Parker’s Psalter’ which was used frequently in the past as a source of inspiration. Whereas composers like Vaughan Williams or Philip Sparke actually quoted the theme and varied around it in a recognisable way, Rob Goorhuis, in his version, uses the theme more disguised at the beginning and presents it in its original form once but in a stunning and spectacular way.

Durkle Bandrydge Suite Durkle Bandrydge is the name of the composers imaginary world, but it could very well be anyones invisible dream world with a different name. In this very versatile suite by Bruce Fraser, 8 characters are featured, each with its own peculiarities, making Durkle Bandrydge such a colourful place. Do these characters differ that much from us? That is for you to find out! In the last part, all characters come together in a special way.

Durkle Bandrydge exists at the end of your street. It is invisible to humans, but Durkle Bandrygators can watch us with great interest.
The music will introduce you to some of the characters who live in this unusual place.

The parts:
Somnanbulyss, who is a giant troll guarding the entrance to Durkle Bandryde. At least, he is supposed to, but he tends to sleep most of the time. His music is therefore very slow moving and sleepy.

Long Gwysteen is a tall, mysterious, and somehow sophisticated character, who walls around with a shell on his back. His music glides along rather gracefully.

Squelfitch is a rather unpleasant and smelly character who lives in a bog, which is why his music sounds rather slimy and a bit like trying to walk through quicksand.

Perfydlia is a meddling old woman, who gossips about everybody and squeals with sudden delight at the small exciting bits of tittletattle about others in the village. In the music you can hear her sudden little squeals of delight.

Maryann Lovely is a beautiful young lady, graceful, gorgeous, absolutely devine, and her music is obviously just the same.

Thistledoo Nicely is a lively character who spends and spends and spends with her credit card, buying the latest fashion and never worries about having to pay the bills. Her music reflects her excitement when shopping and het ‘happy go lucky’ approach to life.

Marsyn Edginton is the Lord of the manor, the richest man in town, the ‘big cheese’, the man with all the power and, of course, the biggest house. He is very grand and his music like he could be a king.

Jimmy McScotsmyn is a red haired scotsman wearing tartan cap. He misses his home country terribly and eats lots of shortbread, oatcakes, scotch eggs, porridge and drinks an enormous amount of Scotch Wisky, which helps him to have fond memories of the kind of music he would like to dance to when he was a younger man. His favourite dance is a Jig and this is the music he remembers.

Grand March of the Durkle Bandrydgators. We hope that you have enjoyed meeting these characters from Drukle Bandrydge and would invite you to listen to all the villagers now march along in a grand parade - it is a pity that you can not see them, what is a wonderful sight.
If you listen carefully, you will hear the melodies which belong to the characters as they march past.
Oh what a grand spectacle!

A Western Suite The atmosphere of the Wild West is caught in a striking and most imaginative way by young composer Andreas Schulte in this work.
A caravan of gold- and fortuneseekers launch themselves into a big adventure and begin their rush westward.

The first movement desciribes these first days of buoyancy and optimism in a crisp march.
Near the campfire the pioneers rest themselves, and the music expresses feelings of romance, nostalgia for the past and hopes for the future.
A wistful melody very characteristically communicates these feelings.
Relaxation takes place in the third movement which is a musical characterization of a rodeo and its attendant festivities.
It is obvious that sometimes something goes wrong and this aspect can also be heard.
Nevertheless, the valiant rider wins in the end.
With a flashback to the beginning, the journey is completed musically, thus giving the composition a dignified finale.

Let the mystic Wild West entrance you. (Wagons ho ....!!)
